I attended a beautifully prepared “blessing way/journey” baby shower on the weekend up past Maleny on the Sunshine Coast. I was honoured to be able to photograph & document such a joyous occasion & celebration by such a ceremony, in preperation of the mummies up-coming birth in just a couple of short weeks.

The women attending brought their hand made flags which will be sewn together to remind mum of the power from within & that the womanly body was made to birth (such encouragements). Such a gorgeous celebration when women can come together to encourage & uplift & prepare their friend for such a empowered journey which mum is about to enter.

Their were loads of stories to be shared, lunch to be had along with a DELICIOUS god-ess pie to eat & loads and loads of pampering to the new mummy to be. I especially loved listening to all the meaning/s, behind each of the beads the women presented to the mum to be, to be made into a very special bracelet for mum to wear from that point on until birth, to give strength.
